Erin Falconer has been appointed head of marketing at IKEA Australia and New Zealand, stepping up from her role as marketing communications manager, which she has held since 2017.
Falconer started in her role this week, working alongside outgoing head of marketing Kirsten Hasler until Hasler's departure in August.
Falconer will lead brand strategy, customer acquisition and commercial marketing across Australia and New Zealand. Before joining IKEA, she held senior marketing roles at Disney, BBC Worldwide and Time Warner, and was part of the team that launched Netflix in Australia.
Artsiom Tsalko, IKEA Australia and New Zealand growth and marketing manager, said Falconer's track record spoke for itself.
"Erin's proven expertise in brand leadership and her passion for creative excellence will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the external expression of the IKEA brand and drive impactful marketing strategies," Tsalko said.
Hasler said Falconer had been central to the brand's local growth.
"Erin has a bold, tenacious leadership style, and brings clarity to complexity," Hasler said.
Falconer said the opportunity was about more than campaigns.
"We're going to show Aussies and Kiwis how together, we can improve the everyday, with clever solutions that create more room for a life," she said.
