I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here does it for Network 10

Network 10’s launch on Sunday of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here was a week earlier than last year.

The strategy saw Ten pick up an audience of 980,000 on opening night, just behind Seven News at 1,135,000. Welcome to the Jungle hit 873,000 in preliminary.

Opening Night lifted its 8pm timeslot 186% on the same night last year. Welcome to the Jungle's 7.30pm timeslot was 153% higher than last year.

“We are delighted with the brilliant audience numbers for the first episode of the new season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here," says Network 10’s chief content officer Beverley McGarvey.

"It has clearly struck a chord with viewers and proven – once again – that people are looking for a fun and engaging alternative. We look forward to revealing more campmates tonight and four more weeks of jungle fun and surprises.

“Coming very soon is the highly anticipated Australian Survivor: All Stars, plus new seasons of spectacular and family friendly Dancing With The Stars, panel comedy Hughesy, We Have A Problem, and an insight into Aussie heroes in Ambulance Australia plus so much more.”

Ten announced it will be matching every dollar raised by the celebrities for their chosen charities to support the state-based fire services and other bushfire charities.
