Huawei Australia has appointed Paul Jowett to lead its Consumer Business Group Division as its new director of marketing.

He is tasked with leading consumer marketing for the brand locally, across its key products including smartphones, PCs and wearable technology.

Jowett joins from Apple where he had lead partner marketing across ANZ, prior to that he had worked with rival tech giant Samsung as its head of channel marketing.

“Paul has unrivalled knowledge of the Australian technology landscape and will be vital to fuelling further growth in our consumer business,"  Huawei consumer business group Australia MD Larking Huang says.

"Huawei has been present in the Australian market for 15 years already and will continue to bring its leading technology to the region."

Huang added that 2019 had been a "record-breaking" year for the business, having sold more than 100 million devices globally.

He says with Jowett leading the consumer business group division's marketing team, Huawei was well poised to continue providing Australian consumers with "cutting-edge devices."

“Huawei is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible with technology, and sets the benchmark for smartphone innovation. I am thrilled to join the Australian team and look forward to delivering exciting campaigns for the business," Jowett says.
