Health insurance firm NIB has consolidated all of its media buying and planning to Ikon following a review, AdNews can reveal.

Ikon previously handled the bulk of NIB's media planning and buying, while Atomic 212 carried out its performance media work.

AdNews understands the insurance firm considered other agencies before landing with Ikon, sources have confirmed.

“Following our recent RFP for our above the line media, digital and social media, and search engine marketing and optimisation, nib has selected Ikon Communications as a preferred partner," NIB’s group executive – Australian residents health insurance Rhod McKensey said.

Ikon, which has worked with the NIB since 2011. will now handle all media buying and planning for an account with around $12 million in annual billings.

All agencies AdNews contacted declined to comment. AdNews has approached NIB for comment.
