Media tops the charts for future pay rise prospects but those who work in the sector are dissatisfied with their jobs, according to the latest salary survey by recruiter Hays.
Employers in Media (31%) plan to offer salary increases.
Sales, Marketing and PR (8%) are among the most likely to offer transformational pay increases of 20% or more in the current financial year.
The Hays salary survey found marketing and PR professionals were more likely to be one of the 33% who made a job change last year.
While media professionals are the most likely to receive a big raise (20%+), they are also the most dissatisfied, with 70% expressing dissatisfaction and 76% saying they feel underpaid.
Sales, marketing or public relations professionals are among the industries most looking to change jobs, along with education professionals.
For the sales, marketing, and PR professionals, it often comes because of being dissatisfied with organisational and cultural factors, and the lack of work-life balance that leads to.
Only 14% of employees (across Sales, Marketing and PR) seeing significant scope for advancement.
The Hays Salary Guide surveyed more than 12,000 professionals and hiring managers across 1,000 plus roles and 25 sectors.
