Havas Media is prepping the launch of a new agency in Sydney as it grows its business in Australia. AdNews understand that it will launch the Arena Media brand into the market later this year with EA Games its founding client.

The plan to launch Arena into this market was driven by the need to manage a conflict between EA Games, which it is understood Havas won more than a month ago, and gaming company Ubisoft, which was won by Havas in July.

Arena Media is a well known agency brand in the UK but there is no word on who Havas will tap up to run the new shop.

EA Games is the latest in a list of former MediaCom clients that have moved their media business following the misreporting scandal that shook the GroupM agency at the start of the year. Yesterday AdNews reported that Canon had handed its media business to its creative agency Leo Burnett without a pitch.

Mike Wilson, CEO of Havas Media declined to comment.
