Guardian taps Zenith's Aaron Michie to lead branded content

Aaron Michie, former chief innovation officer at Zenith has left the agency to head up The Guardian’s branded content division Guardian Labs.

It's understood that Michie left Zenith last month after four years with the agency. He is tasked with growing the branded content division and overseeing the delivery of contents strategy.

He will report directly into Guardian Australia’s managing director, Ian McClelland, and will also work closely with Anna Watkins, managing director of Guardian Labs in the UK.

McClelland said: "Aaron is an industry leader and brings extensive agency experience across multiple disciplines, which will be vital as we continue to develop market-leading solutions for our clients."

During the last month Zenith, which is part of the Publicis Groupe, has undergone a major management restructure. CEO Matt James who joined at the tail end of 2015 as CEO was promoted to lead the newly formed Publicis Media company in Australia. Publicis Group announced the creation of Publicis Media Last month, and restructured its global media units into four arms consolidating its six media brands into four.
