Experiential marketing agency George P. Johnson Australia and New Zealand (GPJ) has appointed Adrian Goldthorp as executive creative director.

Goldthorp is a multi award-winning creative who comes to GPJ from a nine-year tenure at Imagination as senior creative director.

With more than 25 years of local and international experience, Goldthorp has worked with brands including Samsung, Telstra, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac and Jaguar Land Rover.

He has creatively led projects such as the Spirit of Anzac Centenary Experience and Samsung Vivid.

“I’m excited to join this passionate and high calibre team of creatives as well as the opportunity to be a part of the agency’s new growth plan," Goldthorp says.

GPJ A/NZ senior vice-president and managing director Caleb Bush says Goldthorp is a strategic hire for the agency as it continues to grow this year.

“Adrian’s passion is to craft effective and highly engaging campaigns, connecting people with brands to build positive ongoing relationships," Bush says.

“As we continue to drive creativity and innovation through all our work, Adrian brings unmatched experience and skills to complement the agency; for us, it’s a natural fit.

"The pandemic altered the face of the events and experiential industry so as we re-align the agency for continued growth in 2021, strategic hires like Adrian give us the confidence that GPJ will continue to be an industry leader for years to come.”

Based out of GPJ's Sydney office, Goldthorp will lead the agency’s creatives across Australia and New Zealand.
