
Google Australia reported a 1.3% drop in revenue to $1.981 billion in the year to December, according to filings to corporate regulator ASIC.
Income tax paid was $83 million, a rate of about 4%.
The local entity, Google Australia Pty Ltd, acts as a reseller of advertising for a Singapore subsidiary, Google Asia Pacific Pte, of the US-based company.
Profit after tax was $341,039,000 up from $319,156,000.
Employee benefit expenses came in at $990.333 million. Of that $222.412 million was share-based payments.
Globally, revenue at Alphabet, Google’s parent, was up 12% to $US90.2 billion in the March quarter.
Services revenue increased 10% to $77.3 billion, reflecting strong performance across Google Search & other, Google subscriptions, platforms, and devices and YouTube ads.
