Independent agency GMS Global Marketing Solutions has promoted Coco Hu to general manager and Brenda Cugley to chief financial officer, effective immediately.
George Pesutto, founder and CEO of GMS, said the appointments recognise two leaders who have been instrumental in shaping the growth, stability and future direction of the agency.
"Coco's drive and genuine investment in the success of GMS has had a profound impact on our business, our clients and our people," Pesutto said.
"She has consistently combined strategic thinking with deep care for our clients and team, while helping shape the innovation agenda that has underpinned our recent growth. Most importantly, she has helped shape the culture and team that defines GMS today."
Hu has been with GMS for eight years, joining in 2018 and working across campaign strategy, customer success, business development and international client services.
She was promoted to head of customer success in 2023 and has since been credited with helping GMS achieve 300% revenue growth over three years, 100% client retention and competitive pitch success in education and automotive.
She also serves as a director of Kaleidoscope Management Technologies, a software development venture established by GMS.
"GMS has always been driven by curiosity, ambition and a commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes for clients across cultures and markets," Hu said.
"The opportunity ahead for GMS is enormous as marketing, technology and AI continue to reshape how organisations connect with audiences globally. I'm excited to continue building with our team and partners as we enter the next phase of the agency's journey."
Cugley joined GMS in 2023 as group business manager and has spent three years building the financial operations, governance and business systems the agency attributes to its sustained growth.
As CFO she will lead financial and corporate management and play a central role in the company's ongoing restructuring as it scales advertising operations across Australia and global markets.
"Brenda has brought an exceptional level of financial rigour, operational discipline and strategic thinking to GMS during a transformative period for the company," Pesutto said.
"She has helped build the structures and stability that have enabled us to grow confidently while continuing to invest in innovation, technology and people.
