Gawk Outdoor appoints Dan Howlett group agency director, VIC and SA

Regional OOH company Gawk Outdoor has appointed Dan Howlett group agency director for Victoria and South Australia, based in Fitzroy.

Howlett brings nearly 20 years of OOH experience including senior commercial roles at EYE Corp, Inlink and oOh!media, followed by three years at Spark Event Group. 

Gawk operates more than 594 billboard faces across regional Victoria, NSW and South Australia.

The appointment also sees Tim Stevenson, who built Gawk's agency business from the ground up, transition to agency sales director with a focus on Melbourne's independent agency market.

Howlett said joining Gawk felt like coming home.

"After almost 20 years in OOH, I've had a few years outside the industry to reflect on what is important," he said.

“It's a great time to jump on board as regional audiences continue to grow, measurement is getting smarter through MOVE and digital capability evolves quickly.

“I can't wait to work with our team and agency partners to ensure regional Australia is a bigger part of the media conversation.”

Luke Course, co-founder of Gawk, said Howlett came with strong references from some of the biggest names in OOH in Australia.

Stevenson said every decision he made would be about the business rather than himself.

"We've hired a sensational agency team in VIC and NSW and getting Dan onboard is the cherry on top as he brings a truckload of experience and great relationships with him," he said.
