Stephen Brook, a popular editor and media writer, has been appointed as The Age’s CBD columnist, working alongside Samantha Hutchinson, who has moved to Sydney to anchor the column.
Brook, a former editor of the media section of The Australian, has been contributing a media column for The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, and also writing for Traveller, Crikey, Marie Claire and the Weekend Australian magazine.
He also wrote The Australian’s media diary column and was previously the paper’s features editor and science writer, working in Canberra, Perth and Sydney.
At The Australian, Brooke created and hosted Behind the Media podcast, in which he interviewed more than 40 prominent journalists. It was a finalist at the Australian Podcast Awards.
He also worked at The Guardian in the UK.
