FIFA World Cup quarter-finals draw 3.7 million viewers on SBS

SBS's FIFA World Cup 2026 broadcast attracted 3.7 million viewers for the England versus Norway quarter-final on Sunday, making it the biggest audience for a match not involving Australia and the fourth biggest of the tournament.

Argentina's 3-1 extra-time win over Switzerland drew 3.19 million viewers. Six matches have now reached more than three million viewers, and the tournament's cumulative reach has hit 17.1 million Australians.

SBS held the top six programs on Sunday in the VOZ daily ratings.

The semi-finals see France play Spain on Wednesday (5am AEST) and England play Argentina on Thursday (5am AEST), with the final on Monday July 20 (5am AEST).

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is broadcast live on SBS, SBS VICELAND and SBS On Demand through to July 20. Commercial partners include Hyundai, Hisense, McDonald's, Rexona, bet365, Commonwealth Bank and Youi.
