Fairfax takes Traveller on online journey

18 September 2014

Fairfax is bringing its Traveller supplement online with the launch of Traveller.com.au.

Traveller has been published as a pull-out in The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Sun-Herald for the past seven years, and will continue to be published in print. The online version will carry user reviews via a deal struck with TripAdvisor, as well as content around destinations, holiday planning tools and trip deals.

The launch phase of the campaign, created by The Royals, will include print, radio and digital elements. From mid-October an interactive digital campaign to drive engagement and loyalty will launch using radio, digital, video and social media platforms. The in-house created trade advertising campaign will feature elements from the consumer campaign and include a media-i videos and eDMs.

Elsewhere in the travel sector, the ACCC is yet to rule on Expedia's efforts to buy Wotif.com and is seeking further information. It states that it needs further clarification on whether the deal would lessen competition in the market.
