Fairfax finalises senior management hires in brand division

Fairfax Media has made two senior appointments to its Brand Solutions and Client Development team, with Jodie Smith appointed brand solutions director, Life Media, and Michael O’Donnell appointed brand solutions director, entertainment, sport and drive.

The division was launched in December and at the time of launch Fairfax Media's commercial director, Tom Armstrong, said: “A core part of our strategy is to increase expertise in our advertisers’ business and focus on solving their marketing problems in a complex landscape. We have a fantastic portfolio of iconic brands with highly engaged audiences and this new team will strive to provide creative and innovative ways of connecting advertisers to them.”

As brand solutions director, Life Media, Smith will be responsible for Fairfax Life Media’s
lifestyle brands, including Daily Life, Good Food, Essential Baby and Traveller.

As director, entertainment, sport and drive, O’Donnell will be responsible for brands including
Spectrum, national masthead sport products, as well as Drive.com.au, which will be relaunched later this year.

Fairfax Media’s director brand solutions and client development, Michael Grenenger said: “Jodie and Michael are both excellent sales leaders. I’m excited that they are joining the Brand Solutions and Client Development team.”

Smith has 20 years’ experience in senior commercial roles across digital, TV and magazines.

O’Donnell, who has worked at Fairfax for the past four years, has more than 20 years’ experience in senior sales management roles locally and internationally across publishing and media sales.
