EssenceMediacom Sydney wins $150M Uber APAC pitch

EssenceMediacom has been re-appointed Uber's media account locally following a review that began in JuneAdNews can reveal.

The APAC region will be hubbed out of the agency's Sydney office and includes both the rideshare and delivery service UberEats, worth a total of $150M in media billings, AdNews understands.

Howevere, the majority of Uber's global media business will be serviced by Omnicom Media Group.

EssenceMediacom declined to comment.

Uber Australia's director of marketing Andy Morley was promoted to head of marketing APAC four months ago.

Essence and Mediacom merged in January.

EssenceMediacom ANZ CEO Pippa Berlocher was based in Singapore before joining the WPP agency in February.

UberEats's current campaign platform is 'Get almost, almost anything', created by agency village Special, EssenceMediacom, Hello Social and H/Commerce.

Competitor delivery platform Menulog is serviced by creative agency Thinkerbell and IPG media agency UM.
