Eat Up Australia wins $30K Principals award

Branding agency Principals have awarded Eat Up Australia $30,000 worth of branding services to help the organisation feed more disadvantaged children, AdNews can reveal.  

This initiative follows Principals 30th year anniversary, where purpose-led organisations were invited to apply for a grant that would help them use brand as a force for good. 

Following two rounds of judging, Eat Up was selected from a shortlist of seven. The judges included Principals founder Wayde Bull, strategy director and principal Moensie Rossier and director Hamish Cargill. 

“Eat Up Australia’s passion, energy, clarity of offer and ability to demonstrate how the organisation would use brand as a force for positive change made the entry a standout,” said Cargill. 

“We’re immensely excited to partner with Eat Up on this valuable work.” 

Eat Up provides free lunches to Australian school children across the nation.  

Each year, the non-profit delivers more than 1.3 million lunches to 1,100 schools, with 550 more on the waitlist.  

Eat Up has secured seed funding to trial an in-school meal program that offers a daily hot meal to every child at schools with high levels of disadvantage.   

Eat Up entered the giveaway seeking a partner to bring the organisation’s next chapter to life, to create greater impact for hungry Australian school kids and help them reach their full potential. 

The collaboration is already underway with Principals leading an initial workshop to help name Eat Up’s new in-school meal program and develop a brand identity that speaks to Eat Up’s critical purpose.   

“This is an incredible opportunity for Eat Up to amplify its mission of feeding disadvantaged kids,” said Eat Up Australia co-CEO Elise Cook. 

“We understand the power of branding to communicate our impact, and we're excited to collaborate with Principals to translate our cause into a compelling brand identity.  

“Together, we can feed even more hungry children in need.”
