Drum roll please... AdNews Cover of the Year winner announced

By AdNews | 19 December 2014

The winner of the AdNews Cover of the Year 2014 ... is M&C Saatchi for its 3D printing cover. Nice work, take a bow. The cover image, created for the 30 May New World Order issue of AdNews, stormed the votes, taking the overwhelming majority of the 2500 votes cast over the last few weeks.

M&C Saatchi will be presented a glorious award to add to its shelf in recognition of the accolade at the AdNews Agency of the Year Awards at The Pavilion, Darling Harbour, Sydney, on Thursday 5 March, 2015.

Lauded for “perfectly illustrating” 3D printing, “combining an eye-catching idea with a sense of humour” and “blowing minds” when the issue came out – M&C Saatchi is well deserving of the recognition.

M&C Saatchi ECD Ben Welsh said: "It's not often you get a creative brief that you can crack by building a creative – albeit a 3D model of one, complete with accessories. We're rapt with the win."

Our runner-up was BMF's Darth Vader inspired The Force: LA cover for the 17 October Hollywood Revival issue.

This was closely followed in the rankings by GPY&R Brisbane's entry which took the third spot for the Glass Cleaner cover for Coming Clean – The Transparency Issue.

Many thanks to all the agencies who took part this year. Next year, we're hoping to open the opportunity up to more agencies – when it's appropriate – so form an orderly line and send any expressions of interest to AdNews editor Rosie Baker at Rosiebaker@yaffa.com.au

The winner was originally announced in The Annual. Check it out in print, or get it on the iPad to get the downlow on the other entrants and a heap of other premium content including the CMO Photo Essay, Media Rants and the all important Top 10 ads of the year.
