Former US president Donald Trump's social media app Truth Social is now available to users all over the world, after the platform geoblocked most countries.

Former congressman and CEO of Truth Social Devin Nunes specifically welcomed Australians to the platform on Twitter.

The app was founded by Donald Trump after he was banned from Twitter and Facebook following the US Capitol Riots.

Truth Social is run by the Trump Media & Technology group and while it is marketed as a "free speech" platform, critics have argued it is filled with hate speech and disinformation.

With 5 million users, the launch in Australia has reportedly seen few prominent Australians join. The biggest names so far include former MP turned blogger and conservative activist George Christensen and freedom movement citizen journalist Real Rukshan.
