Dentsu has appointed Emily Cook as managing director of its Queensland operations.
Cook returns from parental leave into the role, which opened after Chris Ernst moved to chief practice officer.
Cook joined dentsu Queensland in 2021 as head of client partnerships for Carat, was promoted to general manager in 2023, and has since overseen consecutive years of double-digit growth.
The Queensland team was named a finalist in Agency of the Year awards under her watch and recognised as a leading market in the APAC region for internal engagement.
The agency also earned AFR Best Place to Work status during her tenure.
Cook said the timing made the appointment particularly meaningful.
"Returning from parental leave and stepping into the role of managing director is wonderfully exciting, and I look forward to continuing to champion our client and media partnerships across the state working closely with Chris Ernst and Rob Harvey in this exciting new chapter for dentsu," Cook said.
Ernst said Cook was the obvious choice to lead the business forward.
"The past five years of partnership with Em, building the agency that is dentsu Queensland, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” he said.
“There is no one better placed to lead our Queensland business into its next chapter.”
