DDB Sydney’s creative team has recently welcomed eight new recruits.

Rather than a photo or Zoom screenshot, the new hires have been captured in an ‘Unexpected Works’ visual identity, reflecting DDB Worldwide’s brand positioning which was launched in May.

Andrew Torrisi joins as senior creative. Most recently he was senior creative at TBWA \Sydney, where he spent nearly seven years working on accounts including Amazon, Tourism New Zealand and HCF.

Creative duo Nicole Yeoman (senior art director) and Allie Steel (senior copywriter) previously worked at M&C Saatchi. Steel also spent three years at BBDO New York, and is representing Australia at Cannes Lions’ ‘See It Be It’ initiative.

Yeoman’s career began in Auckland, where she worked at a number of agencies, including Y&R New Zealand and Republik.

Art director Madeleine Purdy started out working in reality TV before stints at agencies including Leo Burnett and Clemenger BBDO Sydney. She’ll work with Alex Collares who joined as art director earlier this year after stints at agencies including Ogilvy and The Works.

Three copywriters have joined the team: Lucy Hay, Camille Bui Viet and Sean Vrabel.

“We’ve brought a bunch of legends into our creative department recently. I couldn’t be happier. Allie, Nicole, Andrew, Madeleine, Camille, Lucy, Alex and Sean all easily pass the talented and nice test – I know they’ll do brilliant stuff here at DDB,” DDB Sydney executive creative director Matt Chandler says.
