The post-Tajer game plan at IPG Mediabrands Australia continues to take shape with current chief financial officer Reg Davidson also taking on the chief operating officer role.

Davidson has been working with country chairman Tajer for the past decade on the development of the national business, and the additional workload has been given to him as a promotion, because he has an in-depth understanding of the way the group operates.

“Reg has been the most impressive business partner I have worked with in my years in the business,” Tajer said.

“He has great instincts for the media industry and a very deft touch in the decisions that created and structured the strong businesses we have now and how we will continue to develop into the future.”

Tajer is in the middle of a transition to the global top job at IPG, after being given the nod in early March.

Incumbent CEO Matt Seiler is due to step aside on 1 May.
