Danika Porter, the former communciations director at Are Media, is joining casino and hotel operator Federal Group as head of marketing communications.
The appointment, which she describes as "an awesome new gig in my dream industry," means she returns to her native Tasmania from Sydney.
"I left Tasmania in my late teens to work in luxury hotel resorts in the US, Canada and UK - and now I am returning back to the gorgeous state to represent these incredible properties loved by locals and travellers worldwide," she says.
She will be leading the marketing, content, PR and events strategy.
The Federal portfolio includes Saffire Freycinet, MACq 01 hotel, Wrestpoint (Australia's first casino), Henry Jones Art Hotel, Country Club Resort and the many statewide hotels within The Vantage Group.
Porter joined what was then Bauer Media in 2019. The business then merged with Pacific Magazines, came under new ownership and rebranded to Are Media.
