Carlton & United Breweries has promoted group marketing manager for VB and Crown Lager Paul Donaldson to acting marketing director.

He replaces Peter Sinclair, who was appointed general manager marketing and commercial development for the African and Eastern business in August.

A spokesperson for CUB said: "This interim appointment was made to ensure ongoing leadership stability for the marketing team whilst the business continues an extensive international search to fill the role."

Donaldson has been with the business for almost three years and spearheaded campaigns including "The Regulars", "Pop Up Pub", "Raise a Glass", and the latest VB "Real" campaign.

Prior to joining Carlton & United Breweries, Donaldson worked for Cadbury Schweppes.

Clemenger BBDO works on creative for CUB beer brands Carlton, Pure Blonde, Corona, MBBCO, Stella Artois and Strongbow, while Droga5 is responsible for VB, Crown and Cascade. MediaCom is CUB's media agency of record.
