Colony Group has appointed Tracey La Spina lead strategist across its agency network, which includes Creative Outpost, Orange Digital and Brand Acumen.

La Spina has more than 27 years' experience in business and marketing strategy, with a portfolio that includes work for Disney and McDonald’s.

She spent two decades in client-side roles, including nine years as marketing and innovations director at Retail Food Group, before moving into consultancy.

La Spina said she aims to implement a more client-centric approach to strategy across the group.

“I’m excited to re-invigorate agency strategy processes and thinking and give clients more of what they really want,” she said.

“She knows exactly where agencies often fall short in servicing client needs,” said Colony Group managing director Matt McCarthy.

“Tracey’s experience on the front lines gives her a unique perspective and makes her an incredible asset as we continue to evolve our offering.”

Colony Group positions itself as a hybrid consultancy-creative agency, with services spanning brand, strategy, media, digital, production and social.

McCarthy said it’s been a big 12 months for the company, from acquiring Orange Digital late last year, to expanding its footprint across Australia and the Pacific, to now welcoming senior talent like La Spina into the fold.

“We don’t want to be just another strategic and creative agency,” said McCarthy.

“We’re committed to forming true partnerships with our clients, understanding all the intricacies it takes to grow a business. Tracey is the perfect fit to help us deliver on that promise and to drive the next chapter of growth for Colony Group.”
