Coles has announced that it will cut more than 400 jobs as part of a restructure of its Store Support Centre.

In a media statement released this morning, the supermarket chain admitted that its Store Support Centre would be leaner as a result, however no jobs will be sent offshore.

In all, 378 permanent positions and 60 contractor positions in the Store Support Centre will be axed.

The company said it was examining some 160 redeployment opportunities across the business and and would work with those whose positions were being made redundant should they wish to take up different roles.
