Thompson Spencer has appointed Megan Clark Cook managing partner, with a remit to drive growth and unify the agency’s integrated offer following its merger with Reason earlier this year.
Seven specialist businesses and an in-house production suite now operate under the Thompson Spencer brand, positioning the group as one of New Zealand’s largest independent agencies.
Clark Cook joins the agency at a time of growing momentum, with major pitches underway.
She will oversee integration across creative, media and performance to deliver what the agency calls “full-funnel results” for clients in New Zealand and internationally.
“The agency has grown into a true independent and integrated powerhouse, with a staggering amount of deep, specialist expertise,” Clark Cook said.
“What has me the most fired up is the opportunity to help the team unlock the full potential of that integration for our clients, delivering unstoppable impact.”
Clark Cook founded Copper Brand Experiences, New Zealand’s first experiential agency, later selling it to WPP.
She went on to hold managing partner roles at Wunderman Thompson and Ogilvy, working with brands including Samsung, Ford, The University of Auckland and Coca-Cola.
She has also served on the Executive Board of the Comms Council, chaired multiple industry bodies and judged at international awards including Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia, as well as local shows including the Effies, Axis and Pressies.
“Megan is an outstanding leader, with the rare ability to blend entrepreneurial drive with big-network expertise,” said Melanie Spencer, co-CEO of Thompson Spencer.
“As well as proving her ability to build businesses from scratch, she’s driven growth for some of the world’s most iconic brands.
“Bringing her on board as managing partner is a huge win for us and most importantly, for our clients.
“She will help harness and direct the incredible opportunities now possible with Thompson Spencer’s ever-growing expertise.”
