Place-based media company Motio has appointed Christian Tyson national sales director, following the promotion of Gordon D'Mello into an expanded role as director of content, product and marketing.

Tyson spent almost two decades at JCDecaux Australia. At Motio, Tyson will continue to power up Motio's commercial growth and play a key role in shaping the company's broader growth strategy.

"Strong relationships have always been the foundation of my career, they're what create momentum, unlock ideas and ultimately drive results," Tyson said.

Motio CEO Adam Cadwallader said Gordon D'Mello has been instrumental in shaping creative and content direction.

"His journalistic instincts, his creativity and his ability to bring brands and locations to life are central to Motio's future,”  Cadwallader said.

“This evolution allows him to elevate that strength and make it a true backbone of our place-based proposition."

Cadwallader said Tyson brings commercial sharpness with high-quality relationships.

"Christian and I have known each other for a long time, and I've always respected the way he leads and builds meaningful partnerships," he said.

"He brings a level of credibility that lifts any business he's part of. Having him join Motio at this stage gives us real momentum as we push into our next phase of growth."
