Cartology is expanding its in-store media network, adding more than 1,600 digital screens to Woolworths stores.

The new screens will sit at the entrance of high-traffic Everyday Needs aisles, delivering an estimated 14 million impressions weekly.

Cartology says the screens blend full-brand creative with real-time, store-specific navigation prompts designed to direct customers to advertised products.

Early testing shows 31% of shoppers engage with the screens, with campaigns delivering an average 17% uplift in sales.

“Our new in-store screen network meets an opportunity for impactful and contextual in-store media,” Cartology’s general manager of product, Steve Geelan, said.

“For our customers, it creates a more intuitive and engaging shopping experience with creative and navigation aiding their shop.

“For brands, it helps them win on both mental and physical availability, ensuring they are not only top of mind, but also easily discovered.”

The expansion brings Cartology’s total screen network to more than 20,000 digital touchpoints across the Woolworths Group.

Robbie Lawson, general manager of client partnerships and strategy, Everyday Needs, said the screen placement offers a strong opportunity for brands in high-dwell store zones.

“This is an exciting new solution for our clients, particularly in Everyday Needs,” Lawson said.

“The perimeters of our aisles are high-dwell environments which aid customers as they navigate through the store.

“The new screens will play a key role in amplifying that shopping experience.

“What we have for our brand partners is a powerful creative canvas that can integrate above the line activity into the store environment, creating real excitement for our customers and measurable results for clients.”
