Carsales mediahouse, at its Sydney Open House event, has launched artificial intelligence capabilities for its self-serve advertising platform and introduced new editorial formats.
The automotive marketplace unveiled Ignition AI, an evolution of its existing ad manager that uses AI for campaign planning, buying and measurement.
The platform promises to help marketers achieve more impact with reduced spending through automated tasks and data-driven recommendations.
"One Platform, Every Advantage means no trade-offs," said Nicholas Bailly, commercial director of carsales mediahouse.
"The scale of a marketplace, the trust of a local publisher, the performance of a walled garden and the flexibility of the open web -- a balance of benefits for both consumer and advertiser, all in one place."
The company also introduced editorial content designed to guide car buyers through purchasing decisions. The New Car Buyers Guide replaces traditional "Car of the Year" approaches with practical recommendations across five categories, while premium content series aim to inform and entertain audiences.
Davor Vilusic, executive general manager of media, said the AI platform explores three capabilities: generative search for campaign decision-making, execution intelligence for automated tasks, and strategic advisory services that turn data into recommendations.
"As automotive choice grows more complex, the role of carsales becomes even more critical -- helping buyers navigate with confidence and giving brands the tools to build attention, trust and consideration," Vilusic said.
The platform also expanded its native advertising suite with interactive formats built for editorial environments, requiring no creative assets from advertisers.
Carsales addressed measurement challenges facing marketers as privacy changes and cookie deprecation break traditional attribution models. The company now offers attribution health checks through independent data specialist Civic Data.
"In our independent attribution health checks we consistently see how mobile- and app-first publishers are negatively impacted by traditional attribution models due to ongoing tracking limitations," said Chris Brinkworth, managing partner at Civic Data.
Carsales mediahouse operates Australia's largest automotive marketplace, connecting buyers and sellers for more than 25 years. The platform extends across bikes, boats, caravans, trucks and farm equipment.
The company continues its Open House tour with Melbourne next week.
