Carat Melbourne managing director Joseph Pardillo has departed the Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) agency after eight and a half years.

A DAN spokesperson confirmed he left the agency in February with Carat CEO Sue Squillace overseeing the Melbourne office in the interim before a new managing director is announced.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of my eight years at Carat and the highs and lows endured throughout that time," Pardillo told AdNews.

"Whilst I have witnessed enormous business success throughout my tenure, nothing can compare to the privilege of leading and working with brilliant people throughout the journey. These great individuals within the business are who will continue the storied success of Carat, and I wish them all the best."

Pardillo joined the agency in 2012 as group business director and worked his way up to the MD role in 2015.

Prior to his time at Carat, he has held roles at Seven, Starcom MediaVest Group, Dentsu Mitchell and ZenithOptimedia.

It is unclear what Pardillo's next move will be.
