There’s a new Milk Tray Man in town, Patrick McBride, a firefighter from Liverpool, England. McBride takes the title after a competition ran last year that received 20,000 entries.

McBride takes over from the previous Milk Man, James Coombes, who graced our screens 14 years ago, delivering chocolate to ladies.

The campaign started last October and saw celebs, including Joey Essex, strive to be the Milk Tray Man. McBride apparently won the judges' hearts by performing a rescue lift at the audition.

In a clip released by Cadbury, McBride gets emotional about his new position, even tearing up as he reads out the announcement.

In another clip McBride says, “The Milk Tray Man is obviously someone that likes to make people happy,” as he hands a woman a box of chocolates in his firefighter gear.

There will be an out-of-home campaign featuring a shot of McBride wearing the iconic black polo neck and holding onto a box of Milk Tray.

There will be a TV ad later in the year.
