The search for a new media agency partner comes after Bunnings rolled out its own retail media network.
The media account for hardware chain Bunnings has gone to PHD, according to insiders.
The account has been held by Initiative, which retained the business following a pitch against Ikon Communications in 2010.
PHD has declined to comment and Bunnings says it is not yet ready to make an announcement.
“Bunnings is working through a process to appoint a media agency partner,” a Bunnings spokesperson said.
“This process is ongoing and we are not in a position to confirm the outcome at this time.”
The search for a new media agency partner comes after Bunnings rolled out its own retail media network, Hammer Media, in March this year.
The retail media platform provides suppliers with an opportunity to advertise across in-store and digital assets.
“The launch of Hammer Media represents a significant step forward in our commitment to innovation and growth in both digital and retail media,” said Bunnings general manager marketing, Justine Mills.
“Take-up and results from trials in Victoria and New South Wales are very encouraging for the future success of the network and returns for our advertising partners."
The platform spans digital screens in 150 stores, website placements, social media, email marketing, and in-store radio. Targeting both trade and consumer audiences.
