Media trading company Brandscreen has appointed Dhana Segaran as chief financial officer of the Australian-based firm.
Segeran joins the company after a seven year stretch as finance director and controller with AdStream.

The company's chief executive officer Robert Manning said he is pleased to have Segeran on board as “he brings a wealth of knowledge as well as an extensive business network" throughout South East Asia to Brandscreen.

“Dhana will be assisting the management team put in place, will assit with structure and processes as well as building strong relationships with our key partners to ensure we are able to scale the business at speed through out the region," Manning said.

Segeran has experience in variety of industries, including media, technology, nutrition, construction and manufacturing.

Brandscreen, the 2007-founded demand-side platform, entered voluntary administration in December 2013 after failing to find a buyer. It was saved from administration the following year after being acquired by a US company for an undisclosed sum. But since March, the business has been run under a Sydney-based management team and has been tracking well.

The trading platform for online ads also announced today that it has partnered with international technology innovator Cinemad.tv to bring interactivity and interactive videos to Australian and Asia Pacific markets.

Interactivity – an online platform that allows advertisers to add social media, e-commerce and marketing applications on their videos – converts ordinary video into one that it clickable and interactive.

Manning said: “The challenge for marketers is understanding the power that an interactive video can provide, and that will be reflected in the objectives sought through the media.”
