The 2025/26 KFC Big Bash League (BBL|15) is the most-watched season in history on Kayo Sports and across the Foxtel Group.

While official headcount has not be released, there was a surge in digital consumption, with fans streaming 1.1 billion minutes of action, a 9% increase year-on-year.

The season also marked the highest average audience ever for any BBL season broadcast on Kayo Sports and Foxtel Group platforms.

The BBL|15 Finals was also the most-watched finals series ever, achieving the #1 Qualifier, Challenger, and Knockout Final of all-time.

“It has been a privilege bringing every ball of this exhilarating BBL season to our customers. Each year we continue to innovate our coverage, anchored by our world class commentary team of Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh, Mark Howard, Isa Guha, Michael Vaughan, Kath Loughnan, Megan Barnard, Eloise Sohier and ‘Mr Cricket’ Mike Hussey,” said FOX SPORTS managing director Steve Crawley.

“Our production this season clearly resonated with audiences, driving the most watched Big Bash League season to date and building on the successes of our massive ‘Summer of Cricket’.

“Congratulations to the teams FOX SPORTS, Cricket Australia, and to the Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers for an exciting final that capped off an incredible season.”

The Brisbane Heat, Perth Scorchers, and Sydney Sixers were the most-watched teams in the regular season, with the Heat’s record-breaking run-chase against the Scorchers becoming the most-streamed regular-season BBL game of all-time.

The season was also the biggest across Kayo Sports social media, generating 128 million impressions and 106 million video views.

Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s executive general manager, Big Bash Leagues said the record-breaking numbers are a testament to the sport's global scale and popularity.

“BBL|15 has been a record-breaking season capped off by another incredible performance by the Perth Scorchers as they claimed a record sixth Big Bash League title,”  said Dobson.

“The broadcast and attendance numbers from The Finals series and season at large confirm the BBL as one of the biggest and most popular T20 Leagues in world cricket.

“The success of the competition is not possible without the outstanding support of our broadcast partners, and we thank FOX SPORTS for their ongoing support of the BBL.”

The record-breaking season follows a sustained run of audience highs for the platform, with the 2025/26 Ashes series setting new records as the most-streamed Test series of all time.

The ‘Summer of Cricket’ continues on Kayo Sports and Foxtel with the Australia v India Women’s series beginning February 15.
