Brisbane independent BCM Group has acquired specialist SEO and generative engine optimisation (GEO) agency Neural Digital, a move aimed at accelerating growth of its SearchWorks platform.
SearchWorks, BCM's data-driven brand visibility platform built on adaptive SEO and GEO models, launched in January. Neural's search technology and market-specific modelling will be folded into the platform.
Commercial details of the acquisition haven't been released.
Neural founder Chris Pahor joins SearchWorks as head of search and performance, and takes on a broader role across BCM Media.
His team has already been working with SearchWorks in partnership, delivering results for clients including Navair, Bell Partners and Visit The Murray.
BCM Media and Creative and SearchWorks managing director Lukas Temple said the partnership had already proven powerful for clients.
"This move takes our proprietary platform to the next level and strengthens our ability to deliver adaptive, total search solutions," Temple said.
Pahor said the integration was a natural progression.
"Right from day one we have hit the ground running with BCM Group," he said.
"I have known Lukas and Phil for some time, and I couldn't be happier to be fully integrating the Neural business into SearchWorks and BCM Group."
BCM Group CEO Phil McDonald said Pahor's appointment was a strategic gain for the business.
"Chris is one of the smartest SEO and GEO strategic minds in Australia," McDonald said.
"Acquiring Neural and having him join us to work with Lukas, our team, and our clients marks an exciting new chapter for the BCM Group."
The deal expands BCM Group's integrated paid, owned and earned offering to clients.
