Bastion Aotearoa has appointed Nicky Greville as managing partner, media, effective July 1, completing the agency's integrated offering.
Greville brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience in New Zealand, having held roles at Spark Foundry, MBM, Y&R and PHD.
The hire rounds out Bastion Aotearoa's disciplines to include advertising, brand strategy, consumer and corporate communications, design, social, digital, experiential and media.
The appointment follows Alicia Tutty joining as media partner in Wellington, where she focuses on government and behaviour change clients, bringing more than 20 years of market experience.
Toby Sellers, CEO of Bastion Aotearoa, said the hire signals the agency's commitment to the New Zealand market.
"Nicky's appointment is the clearest signal yet of how serious we are about building something strong and enduring here in Aotearoa," Sellers said.
"Alongside Alicia in Wellington, we now can build something that hasn't existed in New Zealand before, a fully integrated, independent local agency supported by the scale and expertise of a regional network."
Greville said the agency's integrated model was the drawcard.
"Bringing media into the same conversation as strategy, creative and communications from the start, not as an afterthought, changes what's possible for clients," she said.
"The opportunity to do that here, for New Zealand clients, with a local team, was too compelling to pass up."
Greville will report to Anna Cherry, managing director of media ANZ, and work alongside group CEO Cheuk Chiang and executive media director Joanna Barnes.
Bastion is Australasia's largest independent full-service marketing and communications agency, with more than 350 staff across Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Los Angeles and New York City.
