Banter, an independent brand experience agency, has appointed Andie Crawford as its first Head of PR and Social, marking an expansion of the agency’s services into earned media, influencer strategy and content marketing.
Crawford joins Banter following her role as managing director of Alt/Shift Sydney, the agency she launched in 2018.
Over her career, she has led PR and content campaigns for brands including Cadbury, Tinder, Luxury Escapes and Air New Zealand.
Her appointment signals Banter’s move to integrate PR and social into its existing brand experience offering, which spans events, partnerships, content, digital and sponsorships.
“Earned first cannot only be a mantra because it is an absolute necessity for brands wanting to grab and hold the attention of an ever-changing media and consumer landscape,” said Crawford.
“We all know that the media looks and acts differently now and will continue to evolve, so earned exists to enable brands to keep up and to connect with people in meaningful ways, both on and offline and truly be a part of culture not just bystanders.”
Crawford will be responsible for building Banter’s new PR and social division, working with existing clients and supporting new business efforts across integrated campaigns.
“Andie’s appointment is about setting a new standard,” said co-founder of Banter, Paul Den.
“We’re not adding services for the sake of it, we’re building a new creative engine inside Banter to drive even bigger outcomes for our clients by meeting consumers where they are and forging deeper connections between brands and audiences, amplifying engagement across physical and digital channels.”
Founded in 2016, Banter has delivered work for clients including Qantas, Volkswagen, TikTok, EA Sports, Pandora, Nespresso, Westinghouse and Aware Super.
Crawford officially joins the agency on 12 May 2025.
