The Australasian Writers and Art Directors (AWARD) has appointed Samira Ansari, chief creative officer of Grey United States, as the jury president for the 47th AWARD Awards.
As US CCO of Grey, she leads the agency’s creative vision, delivering work that resonates with audiences globally.
“Samira brings a rare combination of global perspective and deep craft expertise, and a clear point of view on what great work looks like,” said AWARD chair Mandie van der Merwe.
“AWARD is known for the rigour of its judging, and having someone of her calibre leading the jury ensures the work awarded this year genuinely reflects the standard we set as a region.”
Ansari recently returned to Grey after two years as chief creative officer of Ogilvy New York.
During her tenure, Ogilvy New York ranked No. 3 at Cannes Lions 2024, contributing to Ogilvy’s Network of the Year win, and delivered Coca-Cola’s first Grand Prix in a decade with Recycle Me.
Her portfolio includes work for brands such as Michelob Ultra, the NBA and Microsoft, including the Sports Emmy-winning McEnroe vs. McEnroe, with accolades from Cannes Lions, D&AD, Effies and Clios.
Ansari will deliver a keynote at the AWARD Jury President Lunch on Wednesday August 12, ahead of the AWARD Awards ceremony on August 13 at Sydney Town Hall.
47th AWARD Awards submissions close April 17.
“It’s an honour to be coming back to Australia as Jury President for the AWARD Awards,” said Ansari.
“The region has long been a force in creativity, and the work continues to raise the bar.”
