Australian Open final tops the night

The Australian Open has wrapped up with the men’s final last night taking the top spot in ratings.

The session, which started from 7.30pm, attracted 1.173 million metro viewers. The numbers are down from last year which attracted 1.5 million metro viewers for the men’s final.

Also last night, Ten’s The Amazing Race pulled in 523,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven’s Holey Moley with 498,000 metro viewers.

Seven News was the top new program last night, with 977,00 metro viewers.

For people aged 18-49, the men’s final was the top program, attracting 426,000 metro viewers. It was followed by the Amazing Race with 230,000 viewers, and Nine News with 217,000 metro viewers.

For people aged 25-54, the tennis attracted 451,000 metro viewers, followed by the Amazing Race with 274,000 metro viewers, and Nine News with 260,000 metro viewers.

Nine won the night with 35.7% of the network audience share, followed by Seven with 23% and Ten in last with 18%.

The Australian Open women’s final, which was played on Saturday night, attracted 849,000 metro viewers. The session also gave Nine the top program for the night and was followed by Seven News with 784,000 metro viewers.
