Australian Ninja Warrior launch gives Nine a win

Nine’s latest season of Australian Ninja Warrior kicked off last night with just under 800,000 metro viewers tuning in.

The reality game show, which aired at 7pm, attracted 795,000 metro viewers, making it the most-watched entertainment program for the night, according to OzTam figures.

Also on last night at 7pm was Seven’s special on actor Johnny Ruffo, 7News Spotlight: Fight of His Life, which attracted 627,000 metro viewers. The program was followed by Ten’s MasterChef Australia in ratings, which aired at 7.30pm and attracted 617,000 metro viewers.

The most watched program for the night was Nine News Sunday with 1.064 million metro viewers.

For people aged 18-49, Ninja Warrior dominated with 285,000 metro viewers, followed by Nine News Sunday with 270,000 metro viewers, and MasterChef Australia with 239,000 metro viewers.

For people aged 25-54, Nine News Sunday was on top with 345,000 metro viewers, followed by Ninja Warrior with 331,000 metro viewers, and MasterChef Australia with 293,000 metro viewers.

Nine won the night with 31.4% network share, followed by Seven with 26%, and Ten with 20.1%.
