Australian media agencies smash the 2021 billings league table

The top rated media agencies in Australia smashed 2021, growing total billings by 19.3% to $US4.8 billion.

Agency benchmarking group COMvergence has worked out a final league table based on Australia media agency billings for 2021.

OMD topped agencies with $US811 million for 2021, a 23.5% increase on 2020, for a market share of 12.3 %.

Second was UM ($US419 million), then PHD ($US391 million).

Comparing holding groups, Omnicom OMG heads the list with $US1.3 billion, up 27.1%, for a 20.3% market share. 

Second was GroupM ($US1.178 billion) with a market share of 17.8 %, followed by Mediabrands ($US751 million) and a market share of 11.4 %. 

COMvergence included 27 media agencies in the rankings with a total of 730 media accounts evaluated.

Net billings for the 27 studied agencies was $US4.8 billion, representing 72% of the total market studied by COMvergence.
