The Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) has appointed Kristie Atkins chair and confirmed four member-elected directors to its board.
Andrew Thornton is stepping down after more than a decade. He served seven years as chair, three as deputy chair and earlier on the NSW State Committee.
Atkins is managing director of Wink, the loyalty and engagement agency. She is an AMI Life Member, Fellow and former Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) of the Year. She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Women on Boards.
Atkins' career includes leadership roles as divisional managing director for Village Roadshow, chief operating officer of Waivpay, chief commercial officer for Ovato, and director of sales for Event Hospitality & Entertainment.
She serves as a non-executive director on the board of the Hunter Medical Research Institute, chair of HMRI Foundation and an advisory board member for the digital marketplace, Vennu.
Four directors were confirmed at the AGM, including Maria De Conno, founder and managing director of Fig Tree Digital, who was returned for a second term.
The others: Chelsea Wymer, chief marketing officer at Chartered; James Keeler, founder and director of Mowbray Park Consulting; Nikki Atack, chief marketing & experience officer, Pentanet.
