Independent media agency Atomic 212 has been reappointed to the Tourism Northern Territory and Northern Territory Government advertising accounts.

The reappointment, which is for a two year period, encompasses the media duties for both departments, with a combined annual billings of $27 million. Atomic had held the accounts since 2015.

The agency opened an office in Darwin in September 2018. The Darwin office now has a staff of six following Atomic's appointment to the Charles Darwin University account late last year.

“The Northern Territory has entered a new phase of international and domestic recognition and we are proud to be part of that journey," Atomic 212 chairman Barry O'Brien said.

"There are fantastic opportunities to position the Northern Territory at the forefront of global tourism, enhance its economic growth and create new local employment opportunities.

The reappointment to the Tourism Northern Territory and Northern Territory Government accounts follows recent client wins at including Beyond Blue, NSW Police Force, NSW Rural Fire Service and Charles Darwin University.

The news follows the announcment over the weekend that current Atomic 212 MD Ian Czencz was exiting the business after only eight months in the role.
