ARN rebrands Brisbane and Adelaide to Kiis

The Australian Radio Network (ARN) has answered mounting speculation that it would be forming a national Kiis network, announcing that its Brisbane 97.3 and Adelaide Mix102.3 stations will be rebranded under the Kiis label.

While neither station will be renamed, both will be adopting the signature "Kiis lips" as part of a revamped brand identity.

The news follows last week's announcement that Melbourne station 101.1 would be renamed under the Kiis brand and that ARN would be bolstering its breakfast and drive teams to help the new brand push.

ARN national content director Duncan Campbell told AdNews  last week that the Mix brand is "tired and it's old and it doesn't have a great perception among advertisers".

At that time, he ruled out rebranding its Brisbane or Adelaide stations, currently under the Mix banner, to create a national Kiis network.

In a statement, ARN said that the decision to pull togther its stations under the Kiis banner will allow it to deliver a streamlined proposition to advertisers.

“It was imperative to retain the strong heritage of both 97.3FM and Mix 102.3,” Campbell said.

“They are both highly successful #1FM stations and this rebrand is an evolution of the “Get Happy” marketing campaign launched in January this year. The essence of the Brisbane and Adelaide stations, including their music and high performing breakfast teams, will remain unchanged.”

The rebrand will roll out across Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide in January 2015.

It follows news yesterday that Melbourne's new Kiis schedule will feature Matt Tilley and Jane Hall as its breakfast presenters.
