Australian Radio Network (ARN) is pushing forward with its bid to turn iHeartRadio into a content marketing platform, with the appointment of its first content director.

Brett 'Nozz' Nossiter will take on the role, joining from a position as content acquisition and partnerships director at Authentic Entertainment.

Nossiter has more than 15 years experience in roles across radio, television and live events, including work as a music director and program director at Foxtel's Channel V and Nova Entertainment.

ARN CEO Ciaran Davis told AdNews at the beginning of this year that it sees iHeartRadio as a “content marketing platform” further than a streaming services, and would be investing further in its potential this year.

It recently announced a partnership with content marketing business Emotive – partially owned by ARN parent company APN – on a number of new initiatives designed to boost engagement with the platform.

In his new role, Nossiter will work closely with Emotive to ensure the platform can leverage new initiatives including the recently launched iHeartRadio Live series, which was launched earlier this month.

Davis said the appointment will build on the success the platform has seen over the past 18 months.
“It is part of ARN's ongoing evolution and growth of iHeartRadio,” Davis said.

“Combined with Emotive's dedicated content marketing approach, this will result in further growth for the platform while providing brands with even more targed commercial opportunities and giving audiences more of what they love.”

Nossiter's appointment will be effective from 4 May.
