ARN adds video to iHeart

ARN has added video to its iHeart platform, introducing full-length video podcasts and a new short-form vertical video feed called iHeart Highlights.

Video podcasts now available on the platform include Australian True Crime, The Interface (BBC), Double A Chattery, No Dribble, Las Culturistas, She's On The Money, The Daily Aus and Two Good Sports.

iHeart Highlights is a vertical scrolling feed of short-form clips drawn from podcasts and radio shows, featuring interviews, reactions, behind-the-scenes moments and viral clips designed to direct audiences toward longer-form content across iHeart.

The video format added to podcasts will be delivered to iHeart at no cost to creators or publishers via existing RSS workflows, allowing them to maintain ownership, control and monetisation of their content.

Later this year, ARN will launch dynamic video ad serving, opening video advertising opportunities for brands across the platform as part of the broader video advertising market.

"While audio continues to be the foundation of podcasting, video is becoming a powerful complement for audiences to engage with great content," said Ben Campbell, chief data and technology officer at ARN.

“Video is a natural extension of our market-leading audio IP, unlocking new audiences, formats, and commercial opportunities.

"By giving audiences the choice to listen or watch, we're offering more flexibility for creators, audiences and commercial partners, while staying true to the open, creator-first ecosystem that has defined podcasting from the start."
