Women's lifestyle publisher Are Media, with titles including the Australian Women’s Weekly, has confirmed it is up for sale.
KPMG Corporate Finance has been engaged to run a formal sale process.
“Further to recent speculation, and on the back of a number of market enquiries and approaches, we can confirm that a decision has been made to commence a sale process for Are Media,” said Are Media.
Are Media emerged from German family company` Bauer which sold its Australian and NZ magazine titles to Mercury Capital in 2020.
Commercial terms for that sale were not released. Bauer paid $525 million in 2012 for what was then ACP. Some reports but the latest sale price as low as $50 million.
