Former Ambient Advetising founder Mark Fishwick and his son Michael Fishwick have launched Venetian Media Group (VMG), an independent, Australian-owned and operated agency group.

The group brings together a suite of specialist creative and media businesses to offer a range of combined or standalone offerings.

VMG will operate as the parent company for group specialists including immersive brand experiences provider Yakkazoo, bespoke and out-of-home (OOH) media provider Revolution360, local area marketing specialist Captive Vision Outdoor (CVO), installation and print solutions agency VIM and full-service media planning and buying agency Frontier Advertising.

Newly-acquired Frontier is the latest addition to the group, bringing with it major clients including New Balance, Beds R Us and Ultratune.

The formation of VMG also sees Revolution360’s media business split from the immersive experience arm which will be re-branded as Yakkazoo.

Yakkazoo, as its own entity, will continue to deliver content creation and brand experiences.

“Our proudly family-first, Australian owned business has become an extended family with the growth of the group and the creation of VMG," VMG director Michael Fishwick says.

"As a group we will offer clients the best of both worlds – the expertise of each company individually, and the power of the collective whenever needed.

“The recent acquisition of Frontier Advertising provides an exciting growth opportunity for both VMG and Frontier and will undoubtedly be a highly valued addition to the fold for our collective clients. Frontier is a fantastic business and we’re excited for what the future holds together.”

Mark Fishwick, a well known adman, also previously founded Titan Media Group and Ambient Advertising.

Ambient Advertising was the subject of an investigation in the NSW Supreme Court following its collapse in 2013.

Fishwick was questioned in court over allegations that the business had overcharged clients for a number of years, how he was remunerated, loan activity and the alleged transfer of business between Ambient Advertising and Revolution 360, which was formed after Ambient Advertising became insolvent.
