Airbnb goes in balls and all with new logo

It takes balls to launch an new logo in the ditigal age - just ask accommodation site Airbnb which has unveiled its new logo with a new brand message all about humankind’s wish to belong.

But the Twitterati have sidestepped the central message and cut straight to the chase (and Photoshop) with thier own take on the brand reinvention.

A blog post from one of the Airbnb founders Brian Chesky said: “Belonging has always been a fundamental driver of humankind. So to represent that feeling, we’ve created a symbol for us as a community. It’s an iconic mark for our windows, our doors, and our shared values. It’s a symbol that, like us, can belong wherever it happens to be.”

However the site apparently didn't factor in the creative thinking of its audience after people started to point out things they thought the new logo called a “Bélo” resembled.

Hint: they weren't people, love, place and an A for Airbnb like the brand intended.

First the logo untampered with - then see some reaction below.

Some people even created a new logo.

However most just continued making their opinion known.

See how the brand intended its logo to be recieved.
